Oversized and Underpriced: Round 3 - Springer enteignen (2011)
Spraypaint on paper
41,5 x 30 cm
A bit of information about this one:
The persons shown in the piece are Andreas Baader and Gudrun Ensslin, members of the RAF terrorist group. One of their demands was to oust Springer, a conservative publishing house, whose tabloid newspaper "Bild" tried to manipulate public opinion against student groups and left activists especially in the late 1960s and 1970s. As an example of that newspaper's agenda read this article about the murder of student Benno Ohnesorg in 1967.
In recent years Bild started an advertisement campaign which invites celebrities to voice their opinion about the newspaper. Bild claims not to censor or alter those messages, pretending to allow public criticism while at the same time nothing those people say can do any harm to Bild.
